Congratulations, Class of 2023!
Five outstanding high school seniors -- from left: Anthony, Janelly, Emily, Khayla, Noelia -– are next to enter college through NYA’s Youth Leadership Academy, a comprehensive mentoring and placement program that also includes 23 current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. All of the seniors have applied to several colleges and universities and are now awaiting acceptance letters and offers of scholarship opportunities. #GoTeamNYA!
Brighter futures for youth.Neighborhood Youth Association empowers students to achieve 100% college placement and on-time high school graduation through mentoring, tutoring, and a holistic family approach to break cycles of poverty and vulnerability. NYA’s afterschool program provides deserving urban youth ages 6-18 with targeted, individualized academic support, leadership development, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning activities, creative writing and arts enrichment, college readiness along with mentoring and scholarships for college undergraduates. Options for vocational mentoring and training placement are also available. NYA's flagship learning center is located in Venice, California, where the agency is marking 70 years of service to the Westside community. Serving Greater Los Angeles since the agency's founding downtown in 1906, NYA looks forward to building on its 113 years of success.

STEM ElectivesAt NYA, our students engage exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math electives from Computer Programming and Rocketry to Robotics and Documentary Filmmaking.

Friendship GroupsStudent in grades 1-8 receive one-on-one academic support and mentorship to help them succeed. Friendship Groups are led by friendly and caring Instructors and Youth Leaders.

Leadership academyOur NYA High School students receive personalized, one-on-one mentorship and support from a dedicated college counselor to ensure every student is prepared to succeed!

NYA's campus has re-opened for in-person learning!
All state and county safety protocols, including masking and social distancing, are in place for this year’s weekday summer camp program and the return to fall semester beginning in August. We appreciate everyone’s support that has makes possible NYA’s tutoring and mentoring of our students, which was uninterrupted through the past challenging months.
