Brighter futures for youth.

Neighborhood Youth Association empowers students to achieve 100% college placement and on-time high school graduation through mentoring, tutoring, and a holistic family approach to break cycles of poverty and vulnerability. NYA’s afterschool program provides deserving urban youth in grades 8-12 with targeted, individualized academic support, leadership development, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) learning activities, creative writing and arts enrichment, college readiness along with mentoring and scholarships for college undergraduates. Options for vocational mentoring and training placement are also available. NYA's flagship learning center is located in Venice, California, where the agency is marking 79 years of service to the Westside community. Serving Greater Los Angeles since the agency's founding downtown in 1906, NYA looks forward to building on its 120 years of success.

STEAM Electives

At NYA, our students engage exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math electives from Computer Programming and Rocketry to Robotics and Documentary Filmmaking.

Friendship Groups

Student in grades 9-12 receive one-on-one academic support and mentorship to help them succeed. Friendship Groups are led by friendly and caring Instructors and Youth Leaders.

Our NYA High School students receive personalized, one-on-one  mentorship and support from a dedicated college counselor to ensure every student is prepared to succeed!
